bloggity blog, poetry

lachryphagy

Hand grips you
Round your throat
When you least expect it
Creeping, crawling, slithering inside

It comes for you
In the dark hours
In the sunbeam moments
It cares not when it takes you

Proboscis tongue
Unfurling
Coiling spiral
Ebony slick

It will draw out of you
That which it craves
Draining you of

Every
Last
Drop

Leaving you raw
Numb

Dejection in lethargy
Look inside

Weak with weight
Find your strength

Blanketed melancholia
Throw off that feeling

Chest heavy dreadful
It’s not the end

Anguish can feel like nothing at all
Only the chance to start again

You didn’t need those tears inside anyway
